The City of Longmont encourages citizens to dispose of Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) in an environmentally-responsible manner and supports this goal through year-round and special event waste disposal programs.

Year-Round Disposal Programs

The City of Longmont partners with Boulder County to operate a hazardous waste disposal center, known as the Hazardous Materials Management Facility.
  • Schedule an appointment for your drop off is recommended but not required. Scheduling your drop off will make your drop off experience quicker and more convenient.
  • The Boulder County Household Management Facility is located at 1901 63rd Street in Boulder (enter at Boulder County Recycling Center – follow signs to HMM facility).
  • Residential drop off is available year-round Wednesday – Saturday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is free of charge to all Longmont residents.
    • Note: Proof of Boulder County residency required (for example, your driver’s license, vehicle registration, voter identification, tax certificate, lease agreement or utility bill)
  • Commercial and Business entities may also utilize the BCHHM facility. Business waste drop off is for a fee and by appointment only and scheduled for Tuesdays, you must make an appointment.

The City of Longmont’s Recycling Center accepts used automotive and cooking oil, and automotive batteries year-round.

Annual Household Hazardous Chemical Drop-Off Day August 24, 2024

Dispose of hazardous household chemicals AT NO CHARGE. Event held from 8 am – 12 pm at Waste Services Center, 110 South Martin Street. Please be sure to bring a current City of Longmont utility bill and identification to show that you are a City resident. This event is for Longmont residents only; sorry, no commercial or business waste accepted.
