Rebates – Water and Electric

The City of Longmont offers rebates and other efficiency programs to Electric and Water Utility customers through its partner, Efficiency Works.

Efficiency Works is a collaborative effort between the Platte River Power Authority and the utilities of Longmont, Estes Park, Fort Collins and Loveland to help customers save energy, water and money.

 

Water

High-Efficiency Toilet Rebates

Longmont partners with Efficiency Works to offer rebates on energy- and water-efficient product purchases from local and online retailers. Please read the instructions carefully as we cannot issue rebates for purchases that do not meet the rebate criteria. Rebate applications are required to be submitted within 45 days of purchase/installation. Used or refurbished equipment does not qualify for rebates. Limit two toilet rebates per customer per calendar year

 

Customers are encouraged to recycle their old toilet for FREE at the City of Longmont Waste Diversion Center. Proof of application to Efficiency Works rebate must be shown at drop off.

  • Tank Toilet <= 1.1 GPF, MaP Premium Listed
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
    • Toilet must be 1.1 gallons per flush or less and be MaP Premium listed to qualify.
    • Up to $75 rebate
  • Tank Toilet <= 1.1 GPF single flush
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
    • Toilet must be 1.1 gallons per flush or less to qualify. Dual flush tank toilets do not qualify.
    • Up to $50 rebate
  • Tank toilet – dual flush 1.1/1.6 GPF
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
    • Toilet must be a 1.1/1.6 gallons per flush dual flush toilet to qualify.
    • Up to $25 rebate

Other Water Rebates

Residential water customers of the City of Longmont are eligible for the following rebates:

 

  • Weather Based Irrigation Controller or add on
    • Up to $55
    • Rebate is intended for controllers connected to an in-ground irrigation system that are WaterSense certified.
    • Add-on device will make controller WaterSense certified and able to adapt watering schedules as weather changes.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
  • ENERGYSTAR residential clothes washer
    • Up to $55, Electric rebate = $25, water rebate = $30
    • Clothes washer must be ENERGY STAR certified. Used equipment does not qualify.
    • Can combine with other electric or water rebate if account qualifies.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
  • Rain Sensor
    • Wired, Up to $15, Wireless, Up to $30
    • Required to be connected to an underground irrigation system.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
  • Soil Moisture Sensor
    • Up to $50
    • Rebate is intended for sensor equipment connected to a permanent in-ground irrigation system and calibrates with the irrigation controller to irrigate when moisture has been depleted from the soil.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
  • Master Valve
    • Up to $110
    • Master valve is installed at the base of the backflow device, which controls water flow into the mainline of the system.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model or equipment information.
  • Pressure reducing valve (PRV) at point of connection
    • Up to $220
    • Pre-approval by utility staff is required for this rebate to ensure the equipment was installed properly. This may require longer than usual processing time.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number or description of equipment.
  • Rotary Nozzles
    • $3.50/nozzle
    • Rotary nozzles, or high efficiency nozzles, slowly deliver multiple rotating streams of water – reducing water waste. Rotor nozzles or rotor heads and pressure reducing spray heads do not qualify.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
  • Flow Sensor
    • Up to $110
    • Flow sensors measure how slowly or quickly water is flowing though an irrigation system and sends that information to an irrigation controller. Rebated equipment is required to be connected to a WaterSense irrigation controller.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
  • Drip Conversion Equipment
    • Up to $110
    • Rebate is for converting grass/turf zones to drip irrigation. Drip systems installed with a new underground irrigation system do not qualify.
    • Eligible equipment includes drip hose, conversion heads, emitters, hooks and clamps, risers, etc.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number or description of equipment.
  • Spigot Timer
    • Up to $55
    • Timer is required to have an automatic shutoff. Rebate is intended for equipment not associated with an in-ground irrigation system.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.
  • Smart Home Water Monitor
    • Up To $50
    • Qualified equipment will connect to Wi-Fi and will monitor water use at the meter-level, detect leaks and will break down water use by individual household appliance and fixture.
    • Proof of purchase required and must include model number.

 

**Must be a City of Longmont residential water customer to qualify. Rebate amounts are subject to change and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

The City of Longmont partners with Efficiency Works Business to offer direct install upgrades and toilet and urinal rebates for multi-family buildings and businesses.
