Municipal Court

Judge Robert (Bob) J. Frick is the Presiding Judge for the City of Longmont. With a background in law and extensive experience in civil, criminal, and administrative disciplines, Judge Frick is committed to upholding justice with fairness and integrity. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and a minor in Business Administration and received his law degree from Creighton University School of Law.

During his career, Judge Frick has enjoyed practicing law in a variety of civil, criminal, and administrative disciplines, including duties as a deputy district attorney, administrative hearing officer, private practice, and municipal judge. Judge Frick was first appointed in 2008 as the Presiding Judge for the City of Greeley and has had the opportunity to serve as an associate, assistant, substitute, or special judge for the communities of Edgewater, Elizabeth, Frederick, Greeley, Lakewood, Loveland, Nederland, and Wheat Ridge. He was appointed Presiding Judge for the City of Longmont in June of 2016.

An active member of our community, Judge Frick is a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America, the Chair for the Colorado Supreme Court standing committee for the Municipal Court Rules of Procedures, and on the Customer Experience Advisory Committee for the University of Colorado, Leeds School of Business. Much of his free time is spent climbing Colorado’s 14ers and other outdoor adventures with his family.

Judge Frick is licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado, the Federal District Court for the District of Colorado, and the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, Boulder County Bar Association, and is a Past President for the Colorado Municipal Judges Association.
